Key Points:

  • Maintain 5 points of contact throughout the entire exercise: both feet flat on the ground, buttocks flat on seat, head back against rest, and shoulders placed firmly against back pad.
  • Push up until elbows are fully extended, pause briefly, and then slowly lower the weight
  • Inhale as you push weight up and exhale as you bring weight down
  • Do NOT arch your back to assist in the lift
